In the same way, my brothers and sisters, your old selves died and you became free from the law through the body of Christ. Now you belong to someone else. You belong to the one who was raised from death. We belong to Christ so that we can be used in service to God.
Romans 7:4 ERV
Here is Your truth! It is not open to debate, amendments or challenge!
Remember Luke 20:18, “Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken. If that stone falls on you, it will crush you!”
U are that stone! I must be broken; fighting being broken will eventually crush me! Either way, Your will is, . . . I will be broken!
Like the chick in the egg - my choices have encased me & the case has been strengthened by my repeated willfulness in sin!
BUT when I become willing to die to all that is not - U, . . . I can break out of all that has “encased” me!
U break me out & adopt me & I belong to U!
I have been raised from the dead by U & stepped into the liveliness of life in Christ - in U! U are my life & are life-giving to me, continuously! And the Spirit lives in me providing all that is needed to make this all happen!
This is Your design . . . how U set things up - to be! I accept! I've joined up! I love it!
And we are also happy with the troubles we have. Why are we happy with troubles? Because we know that these troubles make us more patient. And this patience is proof that we are strong. And this proof gives us hope. And this hope will never disappoint us. We know this because God has poured out his love to fill our hearts through the Holy Spirit he gave us. Romans 5:3-5 ERV
I'm taking Your word for this!
I guess this must be on the order of sending grapes through a distillery to get fine wine!
I'll have to take this in faith! I have seen people's lives changed in great ways through their troubles!
On the other hand I don't recall that grapes volunteer go to the distillery any more than people volunteer for troubles!
I'm just saying, I'm not likely to pray for trouble so I can become more patient !
LAB reminded me -1 Peter & James have the same theme in the 1st chapter! So, with the same message “in the mouth of 3 witnesses”, I'm also “happy” with the troubles I have! (I can hardly believe I just said that!)
Come on, Lord, & pour out Your love & fill my heart through the Holy Spirit, so I may be strong & filled with hope that will never disappoint me!
